2018-2019 Events Recap
Our goal for this year was to make the clubs work more meaningful, to do so, we spent time at these events...
October
AIDs Walk- Students worked at the runner check-in and organized an informative timeline about the AIDs crisis.
Boo at the Zoo- Working with children around Halloween, teaching them about wildlife and through crafts and games.
February
MANNA (Mon, 2/11, Tues, 2/26)- Packaging and doing meal preparation so that MANNA can deliver meals to people who are too sick to take care of themselves or need a specific diet to match their health condition.
December
Brighter Holidays Toy Wrapping Drive- Wrapping presents donated for families who can not afford them around the holidays.
January
Educon 2019- Working at SLA’s yearly education office. Giving tours, coat room, producing coffee and food for guests and more.
March
April
HRC Gala- The largest LGBTQ+ organization, fighting for rights, governmental policies, and more. Students work at the check in and organize the silent auction.
Bake Sale for the United Way Flint Michigan Water Fund- All money we raised was donated to the UWWF to get the people in Flint clean water. We raised seventy-four dollars!
May
Our end of the year celebration- Kimberly and Miguel pass the "CIC tourch" to Maren, Juliana, Alyssa, and Octavian. This picnic in the park is to thank the staff and volunteers for a great year!
